Linux Principal Systems Administrator
MILVETS Systems Technology, Inc. is seeking a Linux Principal Systems Administrator to support the Defense Systems sector at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The selected candidate will manage and maintain Linux systems within a classified network environment, ensuring secure, reliable operations in support of critical engineering missions. Key Responsibilities
Perform as a Linux System Administrator for a classified network. Manage and maintain secure, minimally interrupted operations of Linux servers and workstations. Install, harden, and patch Linux operating systems. Develop presentations and technical recommendations. Collaborate with systems administrators, network administrators, security teams, and software and hardware engineers. Lift and move equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Work after hours and on weekends as needed to support operational requirements. Travel occasionally to other customer sites in support of troubleshooting, testing, and deployment activities. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience, or Master's degree with a minimum of 1 year of experience; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. IAM Level I certification (e.g., Security+ CE) or ability to obtain within 3 months of start date. Must possess an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret security clearance and be able to maintain it. Ability to be cleared to Special Access Programs (SAP). Experience managing Linux OS in a VMware environment. Experience working with domain architectures, including Active Directory, GPOs, Policies, and permissions. Preferred Attributes

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Systems or related field. VMware and ESXi (6.x or higher) configuration and management experience. Experience managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG environments. Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy Management, MS SQL, and WSUS. Experience with servers and storage hardware installation and maintenance. Strong knowledge of security vulnerability remediation, including hardening Linux and RedHat systems. Basic understanding of LAN and WAN networking. Proficiency with SharePoint for documentation purposes. DoD 8570/8140 Certification in a primary OS (Linux).
