Senior Microsoft Office 365 Messaging Engineer

Agility Partners is seeking a qualified Senior O365 Messaging & Exchange Engineer to fill an open position with one of our banking clients. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the design, engineering, and advanced operational support of a high-performing enterprise messaging platform. The ideal candidate will be a go-to expert for Microsoft Exchange Online (O365), bringing deep technical expertise in hybrid environments, email security, and automation. Youll work on large-scale migrations, serve as a tier-3 escalation point, and collaborate closely with IT security and operations teams to ensure reliability, compliance, and innovation across the messaging ecosystem. Design, implement, and optimize enterprise messaging solutions leveraging Microsoft Exchange Online, hybrid configurations, and related O365 components. Lead migration and integration efforts during mergers, acquisitions, and platform transitions. Act as a tier-3 escalation point for complex messaging incidents and service requests, driving root cause resolution. Administer and optimize email security platforms such as Proofpoint, Cisco IronPort, or equivalent solutions. Monitor system health, performance, and capacity, proactively identifying and mitigating risks. Develop and enforce messaging policies, compliance configurations, and transport rules. Leverage ServiceNow for incident, problem, and change management while documenting processes and runbooks. Automate workflows and reporting using advanced PowerShell scripting. The Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate would bring the following: 7+ years of experience with Microsoft Exchange (on-premises and Online/O365) engineering and operations. Proven expertise in Exchange hybrid deployments, migration strategies, and advanced troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of DNS, SMTP, transport rules, and mail flow architecture. Experience with email security platforms such as Proofpoint, Cisco IronPort, or similar. Familiarity with ServiceNow for incident, change, and problem management. Deep understanding of security, compliance, and retention policies in O365. Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation and reporting. Bonus: Experience with Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Azure AD, or eDiscovery.
