Electronics Technician
SAIC is seeking an Electronics Technician in Hanahan, SC. Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supporting engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly; working from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions; constructing components, subunits, or simple models, adapting standard equipment, and troubleshooting system failures through various skill methods to correct malfunctions; conducting routine repair, retrofit, systems integration, calibration and testing; in-line repair and testing; operation of test equipment; and assisting in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts. Qualifications Required Education: Electronics Technician I: High School diploma or GED. Formal electronics training from Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program. Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors. Experience: Two (2) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout. Electronics Technician II: High School diploma or GED. Formal electronics training from Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program. Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors. Experience: Four (4) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout. Electronics Technician III: High School diploma or GED. Formal electronics training from Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program. Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors. Experience: Eight (8) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout. Other Required: Ability to safely complete all of the physical demands of the job in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to the following: lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis; walking, bending, stooping, sitting, standing or squatting for extended periods; repeatedly manipulating and handling tools needed for installing electrical components, mechanical parts and metal work into vehicles. Familiar with the use and operation of power tools is necessary; move and arrange cable supplies and electronic equipment. Desired Experience: Experience with cable fabrication. Required Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Public Trust security clearance. Active clearances accepted.
