Infrastructure Technician - SCS & OSP
Location: Waynesville, NC
(Remote and Hybrid Positions) Open Positions: 4 Build the networks that connect and protect. We're looking for a skilled Infrastructure Technician (Structured Cabling Systems & Outside Plant) to deliver high-performance ICT infrastructure that exceeds client expectations. You'll work on everything from data and voice networks to video surveillance and access control systems, ensuring precision, reliability, and compliance with industry best practices.
What You'll Do Install, terminate, and test Cat 6, fiber optic, and audio/video cabling for both inside plant (ISP) and outside plant (OSP) environments. Deliver complete solutions including Video Surveillance Systems (VSS) and Access Control Systems (ACS) - from assembly and configuration to troubleshooting and repair. Interpret and execute Statements of Work (SOWs), Proposals, and Service Orders with accuracy. Consistently meet or exceed project timelines, quality benchmarks, and billable hour targets. Provide occasional after-hours on-call support when assigned. Ensure all work aligns with industry standards, safety requirements, and client expectations.
What You Bring Core Skills & Competencies Demonstrated experience with structured cabling installation, including conduit, aerial, and direct-burial pathways. Functional knowledge of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and basic IP networking. Strong customer focus, teamwork, and adaptability in dynamic environments. High attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to quality. Certifications & Experience (Level determined post-hire): Apprentice Technician: ?1 of: BICSI INST1, INSTC, or INSTF | 0-2 years Technician I: INST1, INSTC, INSTF; basic network knowledge | 3-5 years Technician II: BICSI TECH; Wi-Fi basics; network theory | 5-7 years Technician III: BICSI TECH + ?1 advanced cert (ASIS PSP, ESA CSSI, AVIXA CTS-I, Cisco CCNA, NICET Fire Alarm) | 7-10 years Master Technician: BICSI TECH + ?3 advanced certs as above | 10+ years
