This position has the opportunity to be remote but will be required to come into the office at times

This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by delivering professional support of Mercy Medical Center's server and storage infrastructure. This position readily deploys new and upgraded systems along with maintaining the lifecycle maintenance of existing systems and network and procedural documentation.

Job Duties

Deploys new and upgraded systems. Maintains lifecycle of existing systems. Creates and maintains network and procedural documentation. Responds to escalated requests for technical support. Provides management reporting and analysis. Performs break-fix root cause analysis and resolution. Installs and relocates information systems equipment as approved by information systems management within a defined time period. Identifies quality improvement opportunities. Facilitates day-to-day operations of the data center. Schedules computer maintenance and downtime. Maintains systems, participate in system analysis and research, execute disaster recovery plan. Communicates effectively with technical and non-technical personnel. Participate in on-call rotation. Serves as escalation point for Systems Administrators and Systems Engineers. Assist Technical Services Supervisor and Technical Services Manager with capital planning and budgeting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience with managing Microsoft Azure, Azure Active Directory, and Office 365. Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet research skills. Experience/knowledge of load balancing technology. Ability to follow change management procedures utilizing ITIL standards. Demonstrates project coordination ability. Critical thinking and attention to detail. Exhibits good judgment. Experience troubleshooting and knowledge of troubleshooting methodology. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Demonstrates ability to create system and procedural documentation. Experience with enterprise blade server systems. Working experience deploying and maintaining Linux based operating systems. Working experience with enterprise fibre channel SAN technology. Understanding of networking design in LAN and WAN environment. Working experience with disaster recovery planning and DR site management. Experience with managing on-premise Exchange and Exchange Online. Working experience with application and desktop virtualization technologies. Knowledge of security tools and data security requirements. Ability to work independently. Ability to gain knowledge of and troubleshoot enterprise applications.

Professional Experience

Required: At least three (3) years experience in systems administration or related field. 5+ years of experience supporting and deploying VMware server virtualization technology. 7+ years experience installing, configuring, patching, and troubleshooting modern Windows Server operating systems. 6+ years of experience with Microsoft Infrastructure technologies, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy management, PKI and modern authentication. 4+ years of experience with Citrix technologies, including XenApp, Netscaler, XenDesktop.

Education

Required: Associates or technical school degree in computer science or equivalent work experience of at least two years. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with emphasis on Network management / administration preferred. Experience with Citrix and VMware.

Licensure, Certification, Registration

Preferred: Citrix, Microsoft, HP, VMWare, Epic, Redhat
