Posted on January 30, 2018 Art Enables is an art gallery and vocational arts program dedicated to creating opportunities for adult artists with disabilities to create, market, and earn income from their original work while building the skills, relationships, and experiences necessary for a successful career in the arts. We offer our artists the studio space, materials, and marketing support they need to develop and succeed as professionals. Position Overview: The Development and Communications Manager is a new role on the Art Enables team and will be responsible for bringing both structure and imagination to our growing number of fundraising and communications activities. This role is both strategic and tactical, requiring the ability to think big while managing details. The Development and Communications Manager must be a savvy project manager who can juggle multiple projects for different people on different timelines. This role will report to and work closely with the Executive Director (ED) on all projects, and will partner with other staff to coordinate organizational storytelling. Attributes of Competitive Candidates: Competitive candidates will have at least 3-7 years of nonprofit development experience and enjoy working on small teams where members wear many hats. They should be considerate listeners who believe everyone has an important story to tell. They must connect fundraising, communications, and programs, inspiring colleagues to see those connections as well. They should appreciate structure and systems, valuing how they make work easier and better. They should value anecdotes and numbers equally. Responsibilities: DEVELOPMENT (75%) Devise and Update Development Strategy Work with the ED to update the development plan to meet evolving organizational goals. Identify revenue gaps and suggest tactics to generate new leads. Manage a strong opportunity pipeline to meet annual revenue goals by engaging prospects and donors. Design moves management plans for all donors. Create appeals and special campaigns. Project manage the ED’s fundraising efforts, guiding where and how they focus their time. Lead grant writing and reporting. Manage Development Operations and Revenue Tracking Process weekly gifts and send acknowledgment letters. Ensure data integrity in Salesforce CRM. Update documentation to maintain systems. Oversee Donor Stewardship Implement and innovate the donor stewardship plan. Update the plan annually with new engagement strategies. COMMUNICATIONS (25%) Develop and Share Organizational Stories Gather and share stories from artists and programs. Create mission-centric messaging highlighting Art Enables’ impact. Prepare tailored donor materials. Organize External Communications Develop a communications calendar with the ED. Draft and design external communications and collateral. Manage email and social media outreach. Skills and Requirements: 3-7 years nonprofit development experience. Experience with Salesforce CRM. Proficiency with MailChimp, Canva, Google, and Microsoft Office. Experience developing fundraising plans. Comfort working with individuals with disabilities. Interest in art, especially folk art. Ability to work evenings and weekends occasionally. Compensation and Benefits: Salary based on experience. Two weeks paid time off. All federal holidays off. Health, vision, and dental insurance.
