Strategic ACI is seeking a
Senior Test Automation Engineer
to contribute to the quality assurance and testing efforts for complex enterprise applications, including geospatial and non-geospatial systems. This role involves designing and executing test plans and test cases, both manual and automated, based on clearly defined requirements, user stories, and technical specifications. As a key member of a collaborative Agile development team, you will work closely with software developers, product owners, and QA professionals to ensure applications meet functional, performance, and data integrity standards. You will also support test automation efforts, help refine QA processes, and grow your capabilities under the guidance of senior engineering staff. Responsibilities: Review quality specifications and technical design documents to understand system behavior and test coverage needs. Design and execute manual and automated test plans for applications including web-based Esri ArcGIS solutions, API services, and cloud platforms. Automate regression tests and develop reusable scripts using tools such as Selenium, Python, or ArcGIS Notebooks. Maintain automated testing pipelines within CI/CD workflows (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins). Support back-end testing, validate data, review logs, and analyze errors. Participate in Agile ceremonies; contribute to test estimation and backlog grooming. Log and track defects using Jira; document test results and defect steps. Mentor junior QA testers, supporting knowledge sharing and testing standards.
Qualifications:
Required: U.S. citizenship. Active Secret Clearance. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field plus 10 years of experience OR a Masters degree plus 8 years of experience. At least 8 years of test and evaluation experience supporting DoD or DHS systems. At least 5 years in test automation, preferably supporting federal geospatial applications. Experience with Esri ArcGIS, SaaS, and AWS environments. Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, pytest, TestNG) and scripting (Python, Java, JavaScript). Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and team collaboration. Ability to analyze logs and tracebacks for defect resolution.
