Job Description Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Solar Modules) at Impulse As a senior manufacturing engineer, you will work with cross-functional teams to build solar modules for space applications. You will own the build and testing of solar modules in production, impacting the reliability and performance of systems sent into low-earth orbit and beyond. Responsibilities Develop, document, and optimize manufacturing processes for solar modules. Develop, document, and optimize metrology processes for solar modules. Collaborate with optical design engineers to ensure manufacturability, DFM/DFA of solar modules. Work with quality and reliability teams. Manage the solar manufacturing facility, including sourcing equipment and setting policies. Support production floor operations, resolve build issues, and improve yields. Guide solar manufacturing technicians. Support environmental and functional testing in production. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or related field. 4+ years of experience in solar module development or manufacturing. Experience with setting up solar manufacturing lines, including stringers and laminators. Skills and Experience MS degree in relevant engineering or sciences preferred. 6+ years of manufacturing experience in space-related solar applications. Expertise in material selection for space solar modules. Experience with space solar module metrology, including electroluminescence inspection, TVAC testing, electrical testing, and fill factor calculation. Experience managing technicians and manufacturing facilities for space applications. Additional Information Compensation is role, level, location, and market-dependent.
