Company Overview Sifos Technologies, a small and growing manufacturer of electronic test equipment in Andover Massachusetts, is seeking a Manufacturing Technician responsible for Assembly, Test, Inventory, and Logistics. Sifos is a privately held technology company and has been entirely funded from ongoing operations since its inception in 2003. Sifos is the industry leader in the test and qualification of equipment that utilizes the expanding Power-over-Ethernet standard for combining high speed data and power across Ethernet interfaces. Sifos also produces highly innovative solutions for Ethernet 10/100/1000BaseT physical interface testing and analysis. Job Title: Manufacturing Technician - Assembly, Test, Inventory, and Logistics General Position Requirements The ideal candidate will be highly organized and detail oriented. Must be comfortable with prioritizing tasks and multi-tasking. Must also be computer literate and very comfortable navigating and organizing files, directories, and other types of documents. Candidate will be self-motivated and able to perform quality workmanship without regular supervision. Ideal candidate will demonstrate willingness to learn and adapt to evolving needs. Working experience in a small company environment with responsibility for a variety of tasks would be desirable. Essential Technical Skills & Experience · General knowledge of electronic components and associated component categories · Microsoft Excel – fluent designing and managing Excel spreadsheets · Interaction with company databases, business applications, ATE software applications · Web searches including vendor and component searches and associated procurement · Basic mechanical assembly · Basic electrical assembly including wiring, soldering, and interconnecting subassemblies · Working knowledge of major electronic component suppliers would be a plus · Experience removing or replacing components from PCB’s would be a plus Position Responsibilities – Inventory Management · Organize parts and subassembly inventories · Track inventory by parts and subassemblies · Identify / predict inventory shortages · Identify parts vendors and procure parts to support product builds · Issue purchase orders, receive and confirm orders · Work with design engineer to resolve obsolescence issues and part shortages · Track component procurement costs as needed to support cost accounting goals · Manage packing material inventory Position Responsibilities – Production · Obtain quotes and lead times for subassembly builds from outside supplier · Produce parts kits for outside PCB supplier to support PCB production · Document contents of parts kits – return unused parts to inventory · Apply barcodes – update in-house database with new lots · Support cost accounting requirements by maintaining records of PCB subassembly costs (via in-house database) and finished goods costs via Excel reports. · Visually inspect incoming PCB subassemblies for any defects · Configure subassemblies with firmware and license keys · Test subassemblies with ATE systems · Track test results and update in-house database · Work with design engineers to address and resolve subassembly failures · Process work orders for final assemblies · Construct final assemblies including mechanical and electrical assembly · Print and package all related product documentation and software · Update in-house database with serial numbers and MAC addresses · Produce packing lists from in-house database · Package final products with documentation, accessories, and software media for shipment · Arrange shipments with shipping vendors and Sifos business manager · Disassemble incoming products as needed and perform testing and calibration. Assure calibrated products are up to date with firmware. · Produce calibration data reports as required for calibration services. Position Responsibilities - General · Maintain and organize mechanical fasteners and assembly components · Support engineering prototype assembly of PCB boards and related components · Support periodic calculation of finished product costs to facilitate product pricing and related data in in-house database · Support general accounting requirements by maintaining records of parts and subassembly inventory costs / value.
