Role Summary
The Project Engineer 1 will complete and support construction and field execution responsibilities for construction projects, utilizing construction fundamentals and company best practice standards, processes, resources, and tools. This position is responsible for implementing and executing various facets of the construction process such as general construction management, punch lists, and executing self-perform work, to understand the building process and how JE Dunn executes projects. All activities will support the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn. Autonomy and Decision Making:
Makes decisions on assigned responsibilities, provides recommendations, and refers exceptions to the supervisor as needed. Career Path:
Project Engineer 2 Key Role Responsibilities - Core
PROJECT ENGINEERING FAMILY - CORE Learn and actively participate in all aspects of the company’s safety and quality plans and culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others. Participate in project QA/QC planning to ensure quality for assigned tasks. Assist in estimating and change management processes, including quantity take-offs and review of subcontractor proposals. Support site activities such as monitoring crew size, self-perform hours, materials, quantities, and equipment. Participate in punch lists, city inspections, safety reviews, quality reviews, and prepare necessary documentation. Post drawings and specifications with the most recent information. Organize and participate in project meetings, preparing and disseminating documentation as appropriate. Prepare various reports like daily reports, progress reports, manpower, and equipment tracking to support the project. Perform periodic site observations with project leadership. Create procurement logs based on project schedules and specifications, track shop drawings, and follow up on deliveries. Provide progress updates to support scheduling. Support project close-out activities, including punch lists, manuals, and as-built drawings. Utilize best practice standards and fundamentals for building and construction techniques. Build relationships and develop communication skills with tradespeople and project team members. Understand various functions and support roles across the company contributing to project success. Collaborate and demonstrate teamwork in project settings. Learn and incorporate Lean practices into activities. Learn about best practices for developing and integrating self-perform opportunities into projects. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and timely. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office. Knowledge of organizational structure and resources. Understanding of Lean processes and philosophy. Knowledge of construction technology and means/methods management. Understanding of self-perform and labor productivity. Ability to assess and optimize project productivity. Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work. Ability to build relationships and collaborate within teams. Education
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. Equivalent relevant experience considered in lieu of degree. Experience
Entry-level construction experience. Working Environment
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. May require travel and/or relocation. Willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs. May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold). Frequent activities include standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling. Occasional activities include sitting and viewing a computer screen. Benefits Information

for details. Base salary in California ranges from $93,000 to $95,000, depending on experience, with potential for more based on performance.
