The Lead Windows Administrator will oversee endpoint management and IT workflows, ensuring a secure and seamless end-user experience across the enterprise. The Lead Windows Administrator will oversee endpoint management and IT workflows, ensuring a secure and seamless end-user experience across the enterprise. This role is responsible for leading patch management, software deployment, encryption, and workflow automation efforts, leveraging modern tools and scripting to optimize operations.

The Lead Windows Administrator will work closely with security and infrastructure teams to proactively monitor, manage, and resolve issues impacting system performance, availability, and compliance. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding the environment while improving efficiency and reliability of IT operations.

Responsibilities

Lead patch management activities, including thorough testing of patches for functionality, compatibility, and conflicts with existing infrastructure and applications. Proactively monitor for and address security vulnerabilities, coordinating with security teams to mitigate risks. Drive automation and workflow optimization for device provisioning, patching, encryption, software deployment, and other IT processes using PowerShell, Ansible, SCCM, and Intune. Manage and maintain Windows workstation support, including workstation imaging, deployment of COTS and GOTS applications, and encryption management. Provide expert-level oversight of Active Directory (AD), including architecture, design, implementation, Group Policy management, and troubleshooting. Ensure adherence to security best practices within AD and broader enterprise systems, including implementation of backup and recovery solutions. Support enterprise Microsoft environments, including Microsoft Enterprise administration, MECM, Intune, Microsoft 365, Azure, and related reporting systems. Manage BIOS configuration, BitLocker, and encryption-at-rest technologies for secure endpoint management. Collaborate with IT leadership to enhance IT workflows and improve desktop engineering processes through automation and innovation. Deliver reporting and documentation related to system health, security posture, and performance metrics. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5–8 years of relevant experience as an individual contributor in systems administration. Industry-recognized certification such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or equivalent. Expert-level experience in Windows Workstation support, imaging, patch management, application deployment, encryption, and automation. Strong knowledge of Active Directory architecture, design, implementation, Group Policy management, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in Windows Desktop and Server operating systems and associated technologies. Strong PowerShell scripting skills for task automation and system management. Demonstrated expertise in security best practices for Active Directory and endpoint systems. Experience with backup and recovery solutions for AD. Proven hands-on experience with BIOS management, BitLocker, Microsoft administrative tools, Microsoft 365, Azure, MECM, Intune, and Entra AD
