TMMG, Inc. **Description** Secret Clearance, US Citizenship, Background Investigation, and CAC are required for this position. This position is contingent on client approval of the candidate. Subject Matter Expert-level Marine Electrical Engineer will support the United States Coast Guard (USCG)’s Ship Design Team in Washington, DC. An ideal candidate will have extensive experience in one of the following specialized Marine Electrical fields: electric propulsion, machinery control, power generation, or distribution systems, as well as familiarity with U.S. Federal or commercial shipbuilding programs, standards, and regulations. Responsibilities include providing leadership and coordinating review efforts for verification and validation work in the Electrical Engineering discipline, reviewing design comments from junior engineers, advising on high-impact design decisions, and leading the review of system design specifications, test requirements, Departures from Specification (DFS), Request for Waiver (RFW), and Engineering Changes (ECs). The role also involves evaluating new or modified electronics on system performance, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. Education/Certification Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline from an ABET-accredited institution. At least 15 years of recent, relevant experience in marine electrical fields such as electric propulsion, machinery control, or power systems. Minimum of 1 year experience related to U.S. Federal ship or boat building programs. Extensive knowledge of U.S. Navy Power Distribution Architecture, USN, USCG, ABS, and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations. Proficiency with productivity software and strong communication skills.
