General Description This position is responsible for independently managing the marketing and placement of new account opportunities (small business) with partner insurance carriers. It involves supporting Select Commercial producers in negotiating carrier coverages and terms, preparing proposals, and finalizing the placement and binding process.
Responsibilities
Establish and maintain relationships with the production team and carrier partners.
Gather pertinent information from producers to obtain quotations.
Serve as a knowledge resource on appetite, market trends, pricing, contacts, and underwriting policies.
Participate in carrier meetings and share information with operations and sales teams.
Negotiate and sell opportunities to carrier partners, including quoting and submitting to underwriters.
Complete marketing summaries, outlining terms, rates, commissions, and responses.
Bind coverage with underwriters and finalize marketing processes.
Maintain accurate documentation in agency management systems and marketing files.
Perform duties in accordance with USI’s service standards and best practices.
Undertake additional projects and duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
3-7 years of experience in Commercial Property & Casualty insurance.
Understanding of property and casualty coverages, underwriting, and rating.
College degree and insurance designations (preferred).
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong sales, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Effective prioritization and workflow management.
Knowledge of industry trends, legislation, and technology.
Proficiency in Word and Excel.
Excellent communication skills.
Property & Casualty license or willingness to obtain one.
Ability to work collaboratively and maintain professional relationships.
