JOB TITLE: Java / Backend Developer
Duration: 6+ Months- Long term role
Rate: Up to 80/hr on Vendor W2 Try to be competitive rate
Location: Austin, TX or San Jose, CA- 3 days onsite and 2 days remote
Position Overview:
Were seeking an exceptional and highly motivated Senior Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development expertise and collaborate with architects, engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and efficient solutions that drive business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
Product Development: Build and maintain backend systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
Code Quality: Conduct code reviews, ensure code performance, security, and implement/maintain automated testing frameworks.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices; drive innovation and improvements across the team.
Documentation: Develop and maintain clear, comprehensive technical documentation (code, APIs, processes).

Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of backend development experience, with a strong focus on Java.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Java, with frameworks such as Spring Boot and Hibernate.
Strong foundation in data structures, OOP, and algorithms.
Experience with RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, and in-memory databases.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Hands-on with tools like IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, Docker.
Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code).
Experience with real-time online transaction processing and asynchronous systems.
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and code craftsmanship skills.
Familiarity with Git (or similar versioning tools).
(Nice to have) Knowledge of front-end technologies such as React, Express, Node.js.
(Preferred) Background in payments or financial services.
