Medical Staff Job Objective:

Responsible for credentialing and privileging activities of the medical staff and advanced practice providers (APP). Serves as a primary resource and liaison for the medical staff and APPs, department chairs, medical staff officers, and committee chairs. Coordinates Credentialing and Interdisciplinary Practice Committees, including agendas, minutes, follow-up, and activities. Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and medical staff requirements, with knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, The Joint Commission, and regulations. Job Description: Education:

Bachelor's degree required Licensure/Certification:

Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) required Experience:

Minimum three (3) years in a hospital medical staff office performing relevant duties Reports To:

Director-Medical Staff Services Skills and Abilities:

Proficiency in report generation, data analysis, workload management, software improvement recommendations, and comprehensive knowledge of credentialing platforms, databases, and regulatory requirements. Essential Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct and policies, addressing violations appropriately. Coordinate credentialing for initial appointment and reappointment of physicians and APPs, ensuring qualifications meet guidelines. Evaluate primary source responses, flagging issues for timely follow-up. Manage reappointment schedules, ensuring adherence to timeframes. Oversee competency requirements and gather documentation. Prepare and process Temporary Privilege requests. Serve as liaison to Department Chairs and Section Chiefs. Maintain accurate practitioner demographic data. Prepare meeting minutes, correspondence, and reports. Monitor licensures, malpractice, and renewals. Coordinate New Physician Orientation. Update Reappointment Schedules and prepare approval letters. Participate in quality improvement activities. Research new technology and privileges, collaborating with IT. Review and update privileging criteria. Assess proctoring status and ensure compliance. Generate OPPE reports for competency review. Orient new physician leaders and guide ongoing compliance. Assist with daily operations and meetings. Perform other duties as assigned.
