We are seeking a highly skilled
Data Engineer (SME)
to support a mission-critical Sponsor program. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in designing, developing, and deploying data pipelines and cloud-native infrastructure to enable enterprise-scale analytics and AI capabilities. This role will involve building and automating CI/CD pipelines, integrating secure cloud architectures, and supporting advanced modeling and analytics efforts. Strong proficiency with Python, Terraform, and AWS is required, along with a background in DevSecOps practices and automated testing to ensure scalability, performance, and compliance. Primary Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and workflows for large-scale enterprise environments. Utilize
Python
and
Bash
for automation, data engineering, and system integration tasks. Implement
Terraform
to provision, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS. Manage data science and analytics environments using tools such as
Anaconda . Develop and integrate
CI/CD pipelines
with automated testing to ensure high-quality, secure deployments. Support
AI/ML modeling workflows
by enabling scalable, secure, and performant data pipelines. Collaborate with mission stakeholders, analysts, and developers to align requirements with technical solutions. Apply
DevSecOps
practices to ensure compliance, security, and maintainability across deployed systems. Leverage
SQL
for data manipulation, querying, and integration across relational and cloud-native databases. Contribute to Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: 7+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar role Strong proficiency with
Python
and
Bash
for automation and pipeline development Hands-on experience with
Terraform
for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and AWS cloud deployment Experience with
CI/CD pipelines
and
automated testing frameworks Familiarity with
SQL
for enterprise data manipulation and integration Experience working within
DevSecOps
frameworks to ensure secure development and deployment Ability to support
AI/ML model integration
into enterprise systems Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) required at the time of application Ability to work full-time on-site in McLean, VA Preferred Qualifications: Experience with data science package management tools (e.g.,
Anaconda ) Familiarity with distributed computing and big data frameworks Knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures Strong communication and documentation skills to support both technical and non-technical audiences Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) clearance is required for this role Benefits Salary:
