Robert Half is seeking a skilled Network Engineer for a contract opportunity with one of our clients in Tucson, AZ. The ideal professional will have a strong technical background in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting secure and efficient network architectures. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to significant enterprise-level projects within a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities Plan, design, deploy, and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues to minimize downtime and disruptions. Monitor and analyze network performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements accordingly. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network systems with other IT systems. Implement and manage firewalls, VPNs, and other network security measures to safeguard the organization's information. Assist with the configuration and maintenance of routers, switches, wireless access points, and other network hardware. Document network configurations, changes, and issue resolutions clearly and in detail. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in network technologies, recommending upgrades or improvements as needed. Required Skills and Qualifications Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and tools. Hands-on experience with configuring and managing Cisco, Juniper, or similar hardware. Solid understanding of firewalls, network security solutions, and VPN technologies. Experience with cloud networking infrastructure is a plus (e.g., AWS, Azure). Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, or Nagios. Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent certification are highly desired. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of SD-WAN technology and implementation. Experience with VoIP systems and network support for unified communications. Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for network automation. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in network engineering roles.
