Role Overview: Join the Test Engineering team to bolster Proterra’s Technology Lab with your adept technical skills. You will be pivotal in conducting high voltage battery testing, engaging in the realization and refinement of prototype battery systems, and closely collaborating with the Battery Test Engineering squad. Your Responsibilities: Ready engineering kits for rigorous tests guided by comprehensive instructions. Position the test materials in environmental chambers, vibration settings, and automated systems to assess various safety and functionality metrics. Conduct thorough mechanical and electrical evaluations of battery units. Document detailed findings and inputs into applications like Jira and Confluence. Maintain an environment of uncompromised safety. Solve battery complications, supporting test activities both on-site and remotely. Contribute to the immaculate upkeep of the Proterra Technology Lab. Work in harmony with a collective of technicians and engineers. Your Background: A technical background with over 4 years of practical experience, ideally in high voltage batteries or heavy vehicles. Proficiency in automotive electronic systems, hands-on mechanical and electronic diagnostic expertise. Adept with Microsoft Office and cloud-based tools like Jira. Skilled in using various testing instruments such as oscilloscopes and data systems. Physical prowess to handle movement and manipulation in diverse environments. Anticipate a variable work environment where safety gear is essential and occasional travel is a possibility.
