About the role: We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Director to lead Gen3s growth strategy in the Federal Civilian market. This role will work closely with executive leadership to align business development efforts with company goals, develop and execute our opportunity pipeline, and lead a high-performing BD team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of federal procurement, a proven track record of winning contracts in the $5M$25M range, and the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and partners.
The ideal candidate is a strategic, results-driven business development professional with a deep understanding of the Federal Civilian IT landscape. You bring a strong track record of identifying and capturing high-value opportunities, particularly in
cybersecurity, privacy, and IT program management.
You are both a leader and a collaboratorcomfortable guiding teams, building partnerships, and engaging with clients at all levels. You thrive in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment and are energized by the challenge of growing a business. You combine analytical thinking with creativity, and you are adept at navigating the complexities of federal procurement. Location :Remote, U.S. Candidates local to the DMV area are preferred.
What you'll do: Lead and manage Gen3s Business Development, Capture, and Proposal teams. Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified federal opportunities aligned with Gen3s core capabilities. Identify and qualify opportunities using tools such as SAM.gov, GovWin, USASpending, and NextStage. Drive capture strategies, teaming arrangements, pricing approaches, and competitive analysis. Oversee proposal development and submission to meet or exceed monthly and annual targets. Track and report on key performance metrics including pipeline health, bid-to-win ratio, and revenue impact. Represent Gen3 at industry events and in client/partner engagements. Lead internal BD strategy sessions and gate reviews. Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure smooth transition of awarded contracts. 710+ years of experience in federal IT business development, preferably within small to mid-sized firms Demonstrated success in securing federal contracts in the $5M$25M range. Deep understanding of the federal procurement lifecycle and acquisition strategies. Strong leadership, communication, and proposal writing skills. Familiarity with Gen3s core offerings: Cybersecurity, Privacy, and IT Program Management. Knowledge of key federal agencies such as VA, HHS, Treasury, and IRS.
