This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and elevate the social media presence of a high-profile principal, driving engagement and influence across multiple digital platforms. The Principal Social Media Strategist will craft strategic content calendars, optimize performance metrics, and create compelling multimedia content that resonates with diverse audiences. This position combines creative storytelling, data-driven strategy, and hands-on content production in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Ideal candidates will thrive in managing multiple projects, adapting to evolving priorities, and contributing to civic-minded communication initiatives. Occasional travel may be required for live content capture at key events. Accountabilities Develop and implement a weekly content calendar aligned with strategic goals and brand voice. Create, templatize, and post social media deliverables across platforms, including short-form video and interactive content. Draft talking points, scripts, and guides for face-to-camera videos. Produce engaging graphics and multimedia content consistent with trends and audience preferences. Monitor, analyze, and report on content engagement, optimizing strategy based on performance data. Support in-person content capture at events as needed, including travel to NYC and Washington, DC. Collaborate with leadership to ensure all content aligns with messaging objectives and brand standards. 3–5 years of experience in digital storytelling, social media management, or content creation. Proven expertise in platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, with knowledge of algorithms and performance metrics. Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Descript, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools. Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative, high-performing content. Skilled in project management and capable of executing content from concept to publication under deadlines. Flexibility to accommodate irregular hours for high-priority events and content capture. Interest in civic engagement, progressive journalism, or political content creation is highly valued. Competitive hourly rate: $33–$55/hr. Remote work flexibility.
