The Principal Enterprise Architect for Infrastructure, Networking, and Security plays a pivotal role in guiding the organization's technical strategy. This role ensures that the architecture and roadmap for these foundational capabilities are aligned with the evolving needs of the business, while also maintaining the stability and performance of current operations. As a strategic leader, the architect collaborates closely with IT domain teams to develop and sustain architectural roadmaps, identify forward-thinking solutions, and translate business goals into practical, scalable technology strategies. Serving as a trusted advisor, this role ensures that infrastructure, networking, and security capabilities are proactively designed to be resilient, adaptable, and capable of supporting the organization's dynamic and future-facing demands. The Principal Enterprise Architect will play a critical role in shaping Humana's technology strategy for infrastructure, networking, and security. This strategic leadership position is responsible for defining architectural direction, ensuring foundational capabilities are robust, scalable, and aligned with the evolving needs of the businesswhile maintaining the stability and performance of current operations. Collaborating with IT domain teams and key stakeholders, the architect will guide the development of architectural roadmaps, promote best practices, and ensure that infrastructure and security solutions support both current operations and future growth. This role is focused on enabling enterprise-wide resilience, performance, and agility through thoughtful planning and execution of core technology capabilities. Responsibilities: Co-develop and maintain enterprise architecture strategies for infrastructure, networking, and security. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure architectural alignment with business goals. Identify opportunities to modernize and optimize foundational technology platforms. Provide expert guidance on best practices for infrastructure and security architecture. Evaluate the impact of architectural decisions on operational performance and business outcomes. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity. Drive compliance to architectural standards and governance across infrastructure, networking, and security domains. Contribute to the evaluation and selection of technology platforms and vendors, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles. Assess and mitigate risks related to infrastructure and security architecture, including disaster recovery, business continuity, and cybersecurity threats. Facilitate cross-domain collaboration to ensure architectural decisions support integrated, end-to-end enterprise solutions. Mentor and guide technical teams, fostering architectural thinking and promoting continuous improvement. Support budgeting and investment planning by providing architectural insights into cost-effective and future-ready infrastructure solutions. Use your skills to make an impact. Required Qualifications: Strategic mindset. Experience guiding companies through digital transformations. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. 5+ years' experience designing solutions. Proven ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams. Influential communication skills capable of driving change. Commitment to seeing tasks through to completion. Analytical prowess for solving complex problems. Excellent communication skills for articulating complex concepts clearly across different audience levels. Preferred Qualifications: Negotiation skills attuned to tech-driven environments. Certifications relevant to infrastructure, networking, and security. Healthcare industry experience. Master's degree. Additional Information: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership. Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense. Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information. Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Pay Range: $156,600 - $215,400 per year This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
