Yield Improvement Data Analyst Job Purpose:

The PCB industry is experiencing a renaissance focusing on Interconnect Technology and Miniaturization, with multilayer circuits approaching over 70 layers and features below 1 mil (25.4 microns). Sanmina's PCB division is at the forefront of this technological advancement, offering opportunities for engineers in chemical engineering, material science, physics, and mechanical engineering. The Yield Engineer will be part of the quality organization, working on complex, mission-critical PCB solutions. Responsibilities include data mining, developing reports, dashboards, and applications to monitor process trends and KPIs.

Responsibilities:

Implement methods for analyzing manufacturing data to improve yield, including automation of yield metrics and KPIs across the factory.

Develop dashboards and applications to communicate process and equipment health to engineering and operations teams.

Analyze the relationship between design attributes and yield, collaborating with engineering teams to optimize design rules and flag designs outside current capabilities.

Review first article yields versus predicted yields, developing feedback loops to enhance yield prediction formulas based on design attribute dependencies.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials Science Engineering.

Experience with large, complex data sets and proficiency in tools like JMP, Minitab, Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Python.

Knowledge of statistical data analysis and Design of Experiments.

Experience creating dashboards and automating data collection from equipment.

Good communication skills and self-motivation.

This position requires US citizenship or lawful permanent residency due to ITAR regulations.

Salary Range: $71,000 - $97,000 annually

Actual salary will depend on experience, education, certifications, and skills. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plans, paid holidays, PTO, and potentially stock awards and bonuses.
