Medicaid It Business Analyst - Senior
Industry: Government (prior experience preferred) Candidate Location: Candidate MUST be a SC resident. No relocation allowed. Work Location: Columbia South Carolina - Hybrid Interview Process: 1 round, Virtual/Online Duration of the Contract: 12 months Possibility for Extension: Yes Openings: 3 This is a new position needed to support for the MMIS [Medicaid Management Information System] Modernization efforts. Required Skills: 7 years of experience in commercial healthcare 6 years of experience eliciting, mining, and documenting business rules/processes 3 years of experience in State Medicaid payer system integration and delivery 3 years of experience with inner workings of cross functional projects 3 years familiarity with Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) business architecture principles 3 years familiarity with standard data structures, electronic data interchange, processes and related file formats 3 years ability to effectively work and communicate, in both oral and written, with all levels of the Agency from frontline workers to Executive Staff as well as the Contractor(s) Ability to work in a professional office environment with a diverse group of teammates Must have exceptional attention to detail Preferred Skills: Knowledge of CMS Federal Certification requirements and processes Project management MMIS experience (project or operations) The Business Analyst acts as a strategic liaison between business units and IT, ensuring technical solutions align with user needs, program goals, and enterprise values. They collaborate closely with Program and Project Managers to drive business integration and modernization efforts. Core Responsibilities: Bridge communication between business and IT to translate high-level requirements into functional specifications. Analyze operations to identify automation opportunities and support process redesign for new technologies. Maintain deep knowledge of supported business units and IT systems, leveraging tech trends to enhance competitiveness. Facilitate agreements and ensure alignment from initial requirements through implementation. Educate IT on business direction and priorities. Project and Team Leadership: Lead business design sessions and cross-functional meetings to integrate functionality across MES Modernization modules. Mentor team members and promote delivery of high-quality, strategy-aligned solutions. Coordinate resources and priorities across multiple projects, ensuring deliverables meet operational principles. Provide regular updates, resolve issues, and recommend staffing adjustments to meet timelines and budgets. Client and Performance Focus: Build strong client relationships and proactively address business needs. Serve as liaison across verticals, advocating for seamless business integration. Develop and maintain KPIs to track progress toward integration goals. Participate in operational and leadership meetings to ensure transparency and alignment.
