Private Equity Partner – Clean Energy – San Francisco

An AmLaw 40 global law firm is seeking a Private Equity Partner to join its San Francisco office , focusing on investments and transactions in the clean energy and energy transition sector .

The firm’s private equity and energy practices are recognized among the strongest in the market, advising leading sponsors, funds, portfolio companies, and institutional investors on acquisitions, joint ventures, minority investments, and project-related M&A. The practice has a significant footprint in renewables, energy transition, and infrastructure , covering solar, wind, storage, hydrogen, carbon capture, and next-generation energy assets.

As part of the platform’s strategic expansion on the West Coast, this role will involve working closely with partners across the firm’s California offices , connecting to a global client base and deep cross-practice resources. The position is well-suited for a junior partner with a growing book who is looking to scale within a top-tier platform , or for a senior partner considering a team or group move seeking broader resources, stronger client synergies, and long-term strategic alignment.

Key Requirements

• Current partner at a leading US or international law firm
• Demonstrated experience advising private equity sponsors and institutional investors on energy and infrastructure transactions
• Established or developing practice in clean energy and energy transition investments (solar, wind, storage, hydrogen, carbon capture, transmission, etc.)
• Proven ability to grow client relationships and originate work
• California admission preferred (or eligibility to waive in)
