Responsible for choosing the correct settings and directing the patient to move into positions that will offer the best view. Consistently obtains high-quality imaging for Radiologist interpretation. Demonstrates a general understanding of PACS (Picture Archive Communication System) and its function. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and hospital records. Able to interact compassionately and effectively with patients. Ability to utilize specialized computerized equipment to produce cross-sectional images of human anatomy which aid in diagnosing diseases and/or disorders. Prepares patients for ultrasound examinations and other special procedures as needed. Consults with a radiologist for exam review prior to patient discharge. Provides ultrasound guidance for attending physicians in special procedures. Responsible for troubleshooting techniques with respect to machine malfunction. Verifies orders and patient identification with established identifiers. Demonstrates the ability to utilize the full operation of ultrasound units and probes. Able to obtain adequate imaging of requested anatomy and correct labeling of body part and viewing plane. Shows knowledge of the PACS system and the ability to utilize it effectively. Demonstrates competence within the electronic medical record system. Competent to perform high-level disinfection of endocavity probes per policy. Maintains accurate patient records for all procedures performed while adhering to confidentiality standards.
