Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers worldwide rely on KLA to ensure their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), responsible for all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is seeking talented research scientists, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Film and Scatterometry Technology (FaST) Division provides industry-leading metrology solutions for semiconductor IC manufacturers. The division’s portfolio includes hardware and software solutions for optical film thickness, optical critical dimension (CD), composition, and resistivity measurement systems. These products are critical for IC manufacturers, supporting the development and implementation of advanced IC processes. The FaST division is committed to supporting customers from early research and development to high-volume inline manufacturing, with a global team based in the US, Israel, China, and India.

Description/Qualifications

Responsibilities:

Lead Reliability activities and Best Practices for New Product Development and Sustaining Product CIPs.

Participate in Product Life Cycle management review meetings.

Train design engineering teams on reliability principles and techniques as needed.

Develop Reliability Plans, Block Diagrams, FMECA, and Analysis for new products and assemblies. Identify gaps and develop plans to address them.

Attend design reviews, provide input on Design for Reliability, and perform reliability data analyses using Weibull, MTBF, MTBI, L10, L90, etc.

Collaborate with engineering, service, manufacturing, and quality teams to collect and analyze reliability data, automating analysis processes where possible.

Perform reliability data analysis using tools such as Weibull, Duane, RGA, Reliasoft, Blocksim, etc.

Identify and develop jigs, tooling, fixtures for internal reliability testing and coordinate with external reliability test vendors.

Manage critical suppliers for reliability as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

MS in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or relevant Engineering discipline with 4+ years of Reliability Engineering experience.

Experience with reliability of Mechanical, Opto-Mechanical, and electronic systems.

Hands-on skills are desirable.

Experience with reliability analysis tools like Reliasoft and Blocksim.

Base Pay Range: $114,100 - $194,000 annually. KLA offers a comprehensive rewards package including benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) with company matching, employee stock purchase plan, tuition reimbursement, development opportunities, wellness benefits, paid time off, and family leave. Interns are eligible for some benefits. Pay ranges are role, level, and location-dependent, and the range shown is for the primary location in Milpitas, CA. Actual pay depends on various factors including experience, skills, and education.
