Brownsville, TX (On-Site) A thriving and well-established independent distributor in the building materials space is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial General Manager to lead their local operations in the Brownsville, TX area. This is an opportunity to take full ownership of a multi-million-dollar branch, acting as the chief executive of a self-contained business unit - with the backing and resources of a larger national organization. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of branch operations including sales, logistics, inventory management, P&L, customer service, and staffing. Act as the market-facing leader of the branch, cultivating key customer relationships and identifying growth opportunities across commercial, residential, and industrial verticals. Manage a team of 6–7 employees (including sales, warehouse, and delivery personnel), ensuring alignment, engagement, and performance. Recruit, train, and develop team members to support operational goals and customer satisfaction. Monitor and drive financial performance with a focus on profitability, gross margin, and long-term revenue growth. Build and execute business development plans that expand the branch's footprint in a highly competitive market. Maintain a safe, efficient, and customer-centric work environment. Analyze financial and operational data to make informed decisions and implement continuous improvement strategies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, or related field. 5+ years of experience in sales, operations, or general management, preferably within distribution, wholesale, or similar industries. Prior experience overseeing a full P&L and leading a team is essential. Fluency in both English and Spanish highly preferred due to regional market dynamics. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a passion for mentorship and team development. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify new markets and drive operational excellence. Familiarity with the building materials, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or industrial supply sectors is a strong plus.
