Job Description
This position will be directed and supervised by a Department Head or General Manager. The primary responsibilities include routine operational tasks and supervising staff in their operational assignments. Additional duties may be assigned as needed for business needs or career development. Ensure guest satisfaction and hotel efficiency by supervising back-of-the-house departments in the absence of the General Manager and/or Manager on Duty. Support hotel profitability through revenue management, cost control, guest satisfaction, and staff development. Exempt associates are expected to work as much of each day as necessary to fulfill their responsibilities. Management-level associates are expected to work as much as necessary; for OEM associates, overtime applies and is calculated accordingly. The Operations Manager OEM may support areas including: Housekeeping, Engineering/Maintenance, F&B, PBX, Bell Staff, Front Office, and Banquets.
Qualifications:
At least 3 years of progressive experience in a Rooms or F&B department at a hotel; or a 4-year college degree with 1-2 years' experience in a Rooms or F&B department; or a 2-year college degree with at least 2 years' experience in a Rooms or F&B department.
Previous supervisory experience required.
Proficiency in Windows Operating Systems.
Ability to evaluate and choose among options quickly and accurately.
Ability to work well under stress and pressure.
Maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
Effective problem-solving skills in the workplace.
Ability to assimilate complex information from various sources and adapt as needed.
Strong listening, understanding, and communication skills.
Ability to understand and work with financial data and basic arithmetic.
Responsibilities:
Approach all guests and employees with attentiveness, friendliness, courtesy, and a service-oriented attitude.
Maintain regular attendance as per Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
Maintain high standards of appearance and grooming, including adherence to dress code and wearing a nametag.
Follow Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations.
Meet certification requirements such as Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR & First Aid.
Support hotel operations in the absence of the General Manager, supervising departments like Engineering and Housekeeping.
Collaborate with Department Heads to understand each role's impact on hotel operations.
Foster an environment where employees are empowered to make decisions to enhance guest satisfaction.
Assist in creating financial reports as required by the Corporate Office and meet all deadlines.
Participate in scheduled MOD coverage.
Ensure ongoing training in service standards across departments.
Assist with recruiting, hiring, and training staff based on occupancy needs.
Participate in weekly meetings with the Front Desk to manage oversell situations.
Promote a positive, team-oriented environment focused on guest service through staff development and motivation.
Help maintain compliance with Preventative Maintenance and Deep Cleaning programs through inspections.
Ensure staff are attentive, friendly, courteous, and efficient in guest and colleague interactions.
Familiarize with SOPs in all operational departments.
Maintain professional relationships and open communication channels with all staff and departments.
Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees according to company policies.
Complete required corporate training modules and obtain necessary certifications.
Promotion opportunities may require relocation.
Be visible in public areas during peak times to greet guests and offer assistance.
Maintain procedures for hotel safe security.
Attend all scheduled meetings on property when scheduled.
