There is a staff of 50 RNs and 25 medics. During the day shift, the staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, and 2-3 medics. The staffing increases by 4-5 RNs at 11 a.m. and by 1-2 RNs at 3 p.m. The night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, and 2-3 medics. Patient ratios are typically 4-6:1. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Most recruited skill set includes: - Experience in high acuity ERs - Ability to work in fast-paced environments with high volume - Experience with patient ratios of 5:1 Typical procedures performed in the unit include: - Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI) - Sepsis interventions - Stroke protocol with tPA administration - Central line placement - Care of the psych patient - Transfers to other facilities per EMTALA The ideal personality fit is relaxed, easy-going, friendly, team-oriented, and respectful. Floating areas: None Dress code includes navy blue or white scrubs. Weekends require four weekend shifts (Friday or Saturday for nights; Saturday or Sunday for days) in a four-week scheduling period.
