As an ICU RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, a compassionate attitude, and the ability to thrive under pressure. Key Responsibilities: - Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the ICU setting. - Administer medications and perform treatments as prescribed. - Utilize advanced life support skills and techniques. - Monitor and track vital signs and patients' health status. - Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. - Communicate clearly with patients and their families regarding care plans and goals. - Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols. Qualifications: - Current Texas RN License (active license required; temporary licenses are not accepted). - Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience. - Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are mandatory. - NIH Stroke Scale certification is required. - Experience with vasopressors is preferred. - Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, particularly Meditech, is a plus. Unit Details: - Unit Type: ICU - Bed Count: 14 ICU beds - Patient Ratios: 1:2 in ICU - Unit Staffing: 1 PCA, 1 UC - Shifts: Rotating weekends required; 7p - 7:30a and 7a - 7:30p. Dress Code: - Scrub Color: Navy scrub top and pants, navy or white scrub jacket. - Personal grooming must present a professional appearance; hair must be neat and clean, tattoos should be covered when possible, and visible piercings (other than ears) are not allowed.
