Creekside ~ 6:00AM - 2:30PM

Compensation: $20.17 per hour

Paid Leave Days Pension plan through Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System (MPSERS) Retirement Savings Plans 403B and 457 Retirement Plans Medical Benefits Summary: Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):

Responsible for overseeing and proper operation of all building equipment and heating and cooling systems Be able to adjust, operate, and maintain all HVAC equipment as needed including the building management systems (Novar, Trends, Metasys) Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment Replace and repair motors, pumps, actuators, controls, etc Make all adjustments to the building management systems as needed. Set schedule for building management systems for temperatures, etc. Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers, wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment Replace filters, belts and perform other preventative maintenance Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as programmable controllers Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts Maintains pertinent records and documents on all maintenance inspections and repairs Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, furniture, and other structures Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or purchases Notifies management of any emergency situations regarding to building equipment and operations Be available for minor, unscheduled, cleanups or accidents as necessary Must be able to work with the public, students, staff, and administrators Must be able to work independent of continuous supervision, and be able to deal with public, students, and staff in a positive and safe manner Backup when necessary for duties of custodial and maintenance personnel as necessary Possess and maintain a valid Michigan Driver's License Member of the snow removal team Must be available for overtime and emergency call-ins as needed

An assessment will be administered by the district to assess mechanical knowledge and aptitude. Assessment(s) will be the same for all candidates, and will be considered part of the interview process.

Previous experience in HVAC preferred.

Previous experience in the electrician field.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) or related experience and/or training. Mowing and snow removal experience with familiarity of machines, tools, and equipment. Mechanical ability or background.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able lift 50 pounds of weight. Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
