Position Overview:
The Production Supervisor assigns work and coordinates manufacturing activities including set up, processing, tear down, and clean down activities in multiple production suites. The Production Supervisor trains and develops employees; evaluates work performance; reviews production data; and utilizes problem solving skills to improve operations and to meet company goals in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity. The Supervisor may also perform key math calculations, verifications, and process inspections as necessary to support operations. Essential Job Functions: Typically supervises a staff of 10-15, including Lead Operators, Production Operators, and Facility Operators. Promotes and encourages a team-oriented work environment. Leads by example. Evaluates employee performance. Performs annual appraisals and works with management to issue corrective discipline if needed. Collaborates with the Production Training Coordinator and Lead Operators to ensure effective training of Production personnel. Assigns personnel to workstations. Performs in-process verifications for Production personnel. Reviews executed campaign records. Analyzes production mistakes and recommends corrective actions. Stages materials and/or equipment for processing. Performs simple mathematical calculations. Performs facility start-up and/or shutdown. Approves time records and requests for time off. Follows all CPI cGMP practices, policies, and procedures. Follows all CPI safety practices, policies, and procedures. Employees at CPI work with and/or are familiar with the GMP requirements for Food, Dietary Supplements, Pharmaceuticals, or other elements of each. Depending on the position, the employee will be aware of Halal and/or Kosher requirements. Other duties as assigned. Education/Skills/Knowledge Required:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or higher preferred. Previous experience with Wurster Coating process is preferred. (Level 2 Operator or equivalent for internal candidates.) Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Principles (cGMPs). A basic understanding of the purpose and contents within the Safety Data Sheets (SDSs). Knowledge of various types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available and how/when to use it. Basic mathematical skills and the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and conversions. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to read, write (legibly), and speak the English language at a level necessary for efficient performance. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, co-workers, and/or clients. Ability to lift objects weighing up to 55 lbs. and move objects weighing up to 265 lbs. Competitive Benefits:
