Value Analysis Specialist

Provides professional, technical and administrative skills in the operations of Clinical Value Analysis. Responsible for working and assessing within a defined structure to identify cost savings opportunities related to improved product, service, and related standardization and product utilization.Reviews and assesses applicable financial, clinical, operational, and evidence bases literature and appropriately assists in the selection, evaluation, monitoring, analysis and implementation of selected products and initiatives. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with clinical and non clinical staff to ensure effective results oriented project outcomes.
Responsibilities
Serves as a liaison between Supply Chain and hospital clinical and non-clinical departments and staff to ensure cost-effective utilization of products, services, and processes including but not limited to medical/surgical supplies, Lab, Imaging, Cath Lab,Surgical Services, Pharmacy, and Food and Nutrition. Coordinates product evaluation processes related to value analysis projects, including but not limited to cost and contract proposals, trial product, literature, preliminary financial analysis current state vs. proposed state. Prepares and communicates agenda, meeting minutes, product and financial analysis,necessary to conduct the meetings in a professional, concise and timely manner. Communicates and assists in the coordination of product trials utilizing vendor representatives. Includes Nursing Professional Development in those processes when necessary. Assists in the development, criteria, and deployment of evaluation forms and the distribution of sample products for trial. Gathers results of trials and communicates with the committees. Manages the Value Analysis Process from the time of proposal to implementation and final results; beginning to end. Responsible for the documentation of ongoing initiatives, tracking of evaluations/trials,and data collection. Responsible for developing and maintaining a Savings Tracker and reporting that information to Materials/Supply Chain staff, Nursing/ Clinical Departments and senior leadership. Responsible for the ongoing review and management of supply backorders ; re-routes, substitute product for manufacturer and log term stock outages. Develops communication tools to provide the status of backordered product to end users and supply chain staff until a resolution is achieved. Develops and maintains a database for acceptable product substitutions to avoid continued research into acceptable product. Works closely with the Inventory Control Manager, Data Analyst, and Supply Chain IT Analyst to provide clinically acceptable product in the most efficient and timely manner possible to care for patients. Assists Purchasing Manager with product recalls; receipt, logging, deployment of recalls to end user departments, and the notification and return process to the vendor.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in business or healthcare management or a related clinical field preferred Associate's Degree in business or healthcare management or a related clinical field required.
Licenses and Certification
RN license preferred.
Experience and Skills
Technical Experience: 2 years of product experience preferably in a clinical hospital environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
