Organized Power In Numbers (OPIN)
works at the intersection of worker power and modern digital and data-driven organizing to help our movements reach millions of people, invite them into movement, and level up campaigns that win for workers, their families, and their communities. We utilize online and offline base building and organizing strategies, comprehensive campaigns, strategic litigation and communications, and policy advocacy to win concrete demands that improve the conditions of workers lives and promote civic engagement at the local, state, and national levels. In addition to running our own campaigns, we act as a public utility to power the campaigns and outreach efforts of others, supporting partners with lead generation, campaign strategy, and the implementation of outreach and organizing. The
New Mexico Field Organizer
will be based in Albuquerque, NM. This position will work closely with the New Mexico Campaign Manager to advance economic justice through direct field organizing and base building, focused in Bernalillo County. This position requires a commitment to work with members of the community from diverse backgrounds. A successful organizer will demonstrate the ability to cultivate an intergenerational, ethnically and racially diverse committee of community leaders who desire to win economic justice. The Field Organizer will work with a team that seeks to serve and uplift the most impacted by economic and social challenges in the Bernalillo County community. They will also demonstrate an ability to achieve results in a fast-paced and dynamic campaigning environment while balancing short- and long-term organizational and campaign priorities. OPIN is a national organization and travel is required for all employees including for remote and regional positions. Reports to:

$70,000 annually. This position will be paid $35,000 for the 6 month duration. Employment Type:
Temporary, 6-month funded position Responsibilities: Conduct direct, in-person outreach to residents of the greater Albuquerque metro area, not limited to door-to-door canvassing, tabling, and phone banking Conduct one-on-one house visits with residents to engage them in ongoing campaigns Grow and develop a committee of leaders who can drive OPINs local campaigns Facilitate strategic planning sessions with the committee of leaders, biweekly committee meetings, in-person and online organizing trainings and Know Your Rights workshops. Recruit and train a diverse network of volunteers and supporters Work with the digital organizer to follow-up with contacts found online to bring them into in-person campaign activities. Mobilize people to events, actions, press conferences and organizing drives. Plan and execute organizing activities individually as well as with staff members and committee members Undergo training to develop campaign related skills Lend support to campaigns in other states, when needed Facilitate the development of campaign materials and messaging, in collaboration with the Communications, Legal, and Digital Departments. Be able to work effectively in a hybrid in-person and remote setting Required Qualifications and Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish Minimum 2 years experience in grassroots, labor and/or community organizing Ability to manage a team of volunteers A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion Strong writing skills across a variety of platforms and mediums (i.e., social media, email, petitions, blog, op-ed, etc.) Passion for social justice, building power in multi-racial working-class communities, decolonizing political organizing spaces, empowering grassroots leaders, and enacting impactful socio-economic policies towards long-term systemic changes Proven ability to handle projects set priorities, manage details, and follow through independently Experience collaborating with coalition partners and serving as an organization representative in coalition spaces Flexibility and a willingness to take on an array of competing tasks This position is represented by Workers United and is covered under the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
