Lobbying & Public Policy practice, is seeking an experienced
Senior Policy Advisor
to join its
Washington, D.C.
office. This is a unique opportunity to advise clients on complex appropriations and federal funding matters, leveraging deep knowledge of congressional processes and budgetary legislation.
Candidate Profile
Bachelors degree
with an
excellent
academic record required
JD
from a
top-tier law school
or
Masters degree
strongly
preferred
Active Bar Admission
in the
District of Columbia
(if JD holder) or
relevant policy credentials (link removed)> 10+ years
of substantive experience in
appropriations ,
budgetary policy , or
grants -related matters
Extensive experience with
policy issues
and
legislation
related to
appropriations ,
budgeting , and
federal funding
Required experience
working on Capitol Hill , ideally with the
House
or
Senate appropriations committees
Strong understanding of
congressional appropriations cycles
and
federal grant programs
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to
brief stakeholders
and
craft persuasive advocacy strategies
Proven ability to navigate complex legislative and policy landscapes and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities
Advise clients on
appropriations ,
budgeting , and
grant -related
policy developments
Develop and execute advocacy strategies
to
secure federal funding
for client programs and community projects
Engage directly with
congressional committees ,
executive agencies , and
key policymakers
on appropriations issues
Monitor legislative developments
and
budget cycles
to identify funding opportunities for clients
Collaborate with attorneys and policy professionals across the firm to provide integrated legal and policy solutions
Assist clients in preparing and submitting competitive
grant applications

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary:
$225,000 - $400,000
annually, as determined by experience and market factors.
