Impact Electronic Solutions - Grants Pass Location (ESAM) - Position Description
Summary of Position:
The Cost Estimator is responsible for preparing all ESAM customer quotations, with a focus on accurate material cost and labor estimates. This role involves creating and analyzing BOMs, sourcing components, obtaining supplier quotes, and working cross-functionally to ensure pricing accuracy. Completed quotations are submitted to management for review and finalization before submission to the customer.
Responsibilities:
Create new & modify existing assemblies in accordance with customer and engineering specifications.
Review and interpret customer documentation, including but not limited to layout drawings, wire lists, schematics, cut lists, and BOMs to determine component needs.
Estimate labor involved in production of assembly.
Source and obtain quotes from vendors for materials, components, and outside services.
Analyze material lead times, minimum order quantities, and pricing breaks to optimize cost proposals.
Communicate regularly with customers, supplier representatives, and internal management.
Make recommendations to improve efficiency in estimating and quoting processes.
Perform special assignments and other duties as required.
Requirements:
Proficient in Microsoft Excel; comfortable working with spreadsheets and cost models.
Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge of manufacturing catalogs, vendor datasheets, and component specifications.
Capable of quoting from physical samples when formal documentation is limited.
Ability to read small print and distinguish on wires and schematics.
Skilled in using general office equipment: copier, printer, scanner, fax, etc.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Able to sit for eight (8) or more hours a day
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in cost estimating or materials planning in electronics manufacturing.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems.
Knowledge of vendor negotiation practices and global supply chain trends.

Monday- Friday 6:00am-2:30pm
OT is required, as needed. OT Hours: Mon-Thursday 2 hours immediately before/following shift, and Sat.
