Preload is seeking a Garage Mechanic to join their growing team. The Garage Mechanic performs the maintenance, service, repair of diesel/gas-powered trucks and equipment, either in the shop or in the field, by performing all duties of a skilled mechanic. Pay is in the $24/hr to $28/hr with competitive benefits.
Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic and air systems on vehicles and equipment. Inspect the engine and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition. Use hand tools as well as power tools, such as pneumatic wrenches, cordless tools, welding equipment and hoists. Examine and adjust protective guards and specified safety devices. Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery. Test drive trucks and heavy equipment to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly. Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications. Assess defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as multi meters, schematics, or pressure gauges. Repair or replace wiring, lights, and instrument panels. Diagnose and repair vehicle heating and cooling systems. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or general education degree Two to five years of mechanical experience (must have own tools) Experience as a diesel mechanic in a garage environment is preferred
