Job Description
Ferra Designs Inc. in Brooklyn, NY seeks full-time architectural metal fabricators for an ultra-high-end fabrication shop. Knowledge of the highest standard of craftsmanship and finish quality is a must. Qualified candidates are asked to include work samples and professional references. This position is in Brooklyn, NY and is full-time.
Job Requirements
● Minimum of 5 years fabricating steel, aluminum and brass materials.
● Ability to fabricate in various metals including steel, stainless steel, brass, bronze, and aluminum
● Ability to create projects of the utmost quality ● Ability to read and work from formal drawings or sketches to follow fabrication plans ● Ability to set up jigs and weld in a manner which minimizes distortion of materials ● Proficient with a variety of welding techniques ranging from TIG welding of stainless steel & brass to MIG welding of heavy structural steel sections ● Familiar with common metal shop tools and equipment. IE: welders, torches, grinders, drills, taps, saws, clamping devices, measuring and marking tools ● Fine finishing of parts using a variety of stationary and portable grinders, files, polishing wheels and sanders ● Install delicate, finely finished parts on locations within tight tolerances ● Excellent verbal and written communication ● Function as a part of an effective team ● Ability to multitask and juggle shifting job priorities ● Work in a highly organized and clean fashion ● Keep a professional demeanor
Additional Skills/Abilities/Experience
● Welding certifications (AWS D1.1) ● Operable knowledge of SolidWorks or comparable parametric modeling software ● Skilled in a variety of metal welding and finishing techniques ● Project development experience ● Ability to operate metal specific equipment such as a press brake, pinch rolls, fork lift, CNC machining center, CNC press brake, CNC cutting center, Waterjet, 5-axis CNC router ● Polishing experience ● Rigging experience ● Helical Rolling experience ● Experience taking site surveys and site-specific measurements ● Hand drawing / drafting skills ● Wood shop / Cabinetry experience

● Must maintain excellent attendance record and will often be asked to work overtime hours ● Positive attitude ● Drivers license
