Principal Aerospace Engineer / Engineering Manager

Job Description
Summary:
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years of aircraft MRO experience and a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, with the ability to apply them to solve real-world problems. They are highly motivated, competitive, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Engineering skills will be used to troubleshoot, design, analyze, and repair aircraft components, tooling, and test systems.
Duties:
Develop new repairs or industrialize existing CMM repairs.
Investigate assembly/production issues and develop practical, viable solutions.
Create 3D CAD models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and repair/modification work instructions.
Perform stress analysis to ensure the structural integrity of repaired components.
Write engineering reports to demonstrate compliance with FAA regulations.
Assist in aircraft component failure investigations and warranty assessments.
Provide technical support to other departments as a liaison.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited university.
At least 10 years of experience in the aviation industry, preferably with LRU, APU, or jet engine component repair or aircraft powerplant engineering.
Strong understanding of engineering mechanics, including metallic material properties, stress analysis methods, and fluid flow.
Knowledge of FAA requirements and regulations.
Experience with thermal spray and electroplating processes.
Direct experience with various LRU or jet engine component repair processes.
Excellent verbal and technical writing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
