Maintenance Technician

Searching for multi-trade maintenance technicians to join our team. In these positions, they will be responsible for manufacturing machinery preventive and corrective maintenance, working alone or with a crew. They must be well rounded individuals who can perform efficient work on a variety of equipment, executing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance.

Responsibilities:

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and corrective maintenance requirements. Equipment and tools include motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, coupling and motor alignment, roller chain/sprockets alignment, conveyor systems, and production machines. Capable of following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. Troubleshoots malfunctions on production equipment Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems; and using typical technician experience to resolve equipment issues Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and alignment equipment Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance Optimizes maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting actions, communicating irregularities, and scheduling correction of abnormalities Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance setting. Electrical experience is a plus Knowledge in both manufacturing and industrial preventive and corrective maintenance. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance Knowledge of manufacturing equipment including but not limited to conveyors systems, packaging systems, wrapping systems, automatic palletizers, and other automated equipment Knowledge of photo eyes, proximity switches, and other tracking devices. Good communication skills Experience in troubleshooting and repairing different types of pumps including centrifugal and AOD style pumps Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations Ability to lift 50 pounds Education:

University Degree in Economics, Engineering Management or related filed Specific Knowledge:

5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Broad base mechanical knowledge and skills related to the manufacturing maintenance including troubleshooting and repair of automated manufacturing equipment and components, conveyor systems, packaging equipment, palletizing equipment, wrapping machines, and the like. Good understanding of motors and gearboxes along with chain and belt replacement. Good understanding of pneumatics including air cylinders, solenoid valves, and other components. Good understanding and troubleshooting knowledge of photo eyes, proximity switches and other components. Basic computer skills including Microsoft office and CMMS systems. Ability to work cooperatively with a wide variety of production and maintenance personnel as well as outside vendors and contractors. Ability to work off shift hours when required.
