Woodward is seeking a First Shift Machine Repair Tech to join our team in Rockford, IL. As a Machine Repair Tech, you will support the maintenance and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure reliable operation of manufacturing equipment. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, a mechanical mindset, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a dynamic industrial environment. This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR and EAR, or possess all required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Commerce. Benefits Package: Machine Repair Tech Level 1 | $21.58 - $32.36 per hour | Plus shift differential and overtime Machine Repair Tech Level 2 | $27.42 - $41.14 per hour | Plus shift differential and overtime All members are eligible for an annual cash bonus opportunity 401(k) match at 4.5% Annual Woodward stock contribution of 5% Tuition reimbursement and training/professional development opportunities for all members 12 paid holidays, including floating holidays Industry-leading medical, dental, and vision insurance effective upon hire Vacation, sick time, vacation buy-up, short-term disability, and bereavement leave Paid parental leave and adoption assistance Employee Assistance Program, including mental health benefits Member life and AD&D, long-term disability, and optional life coverage Member referral bonus Optional spouse/child life insurance, optional AD&D, and flexible spending accounts for healthcare and dependent care Voluntary benefits, including: o Home and auto insurance discounts o Whole life insurance o Critical illness insurance o Legal assistance o Military leave Shift Information: First Shift | 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Required Education and Experience: Machine Repair Tech - Level 1 High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance or repair in a manufacturing environment Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems Aerospace or precision manufacturing environment experience preferred Machine Repair Tech - Level 2 Internal applicants: Minimum 2 years as an Operations Technician or 1 year as an R&O Technician Proven experience diagnosing and repairing new, modified, and production equipment Ability to fabricate custom tools, fixtures, or replacement parts using basic machine tools Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and root cause analysis Essential Functions: Machine Repair Tech - Level 1 Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system maintenance and repairs Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions in a timely manner to minimize downtime Use hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and machine manuals to service manufacturing equipment Follow work orders, safety protocols, and equipment documentation accurately Document completed repairs, parts usage, and maintenance logs Assist in installing and testing new or relocated machines as required Machine Repair Tech - Level 2 All Level 1 duties, plus: Independently perform complex troubleshooting and repairs with minimal supervision Lead root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions Fabricate or modify components to support production requirements Assist engineering and operations with equipment upgrades and performance improvements Mentor and train junior team members on repair procedures and safe practices Woodward's Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Commitment Woodward is committed to creating a great workplace for all team members.
