Sales Manager
This position would be working within Cooper Standard's North America Industrial and Specialty Group (ISG). This is a highly visible position within one of our most profitable groups at Cooper, that allows the individual to directly impact the growth and profitability of the organization. Expect a fast-paced environment that interfaces with engineering, purchasing and operations regarding new business opportunities, the current book of business and strategic direction. This is a lead role in developing, maintaining, and establishing the customer relationship. Responsible for setting priorities, managing, training and developing Sales team to ensure they achieve departmental goals. Primary Responsibilities: Develop strategic plans for customers and products to achieve profitable growth Prepare and lead the new business strategy and drive cross functional team to complete critical success factors to achieve targeted net new business Manage performance to customer business plan or productivity programs internally and externally Work with Engineering, Operations, Purchasing and Cost Estimating to ensure quotes are competitive, accurate and submitted on time for customer and/or product Establish a network within the customer to gather information on new programs and product developments. Develop cross-functional internal relationships (Sales, Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Cost Estimating, etc.) within ISG and across Cooper Standard Develop commercial agreements for assigned customer and/or product Responsible for setting priorities, managing, training and developing Sales team within the business unit to ensure they achieve departmental goals Maintain global awareness of challenges with assigned customer and/or product, including monitoring competitive market conditions such as market pricing, footprint, technology, quality, etc. May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description Education and Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in business admin. or engineering required Seven years or more of experience working with customers. Wide knowledge of customers, competitors, products, and trends Ability to make decisions on customer requests varying from program support to profit margin, which affects long term profitability Strong verbal and written communication skills with exceptional negotiating abilities Project / Program management skills are desired with excellent ability to prioritize, multitask and organize Must be an effective leader of people Ability to articulate complex business case proposals to internal and external management Strong, polished presentation and negotiation skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Proven track record of customer negotiations Strong in issue resolution Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary Work Environment/Work Conditions: Professional Office Environment Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury Additional Locations: New Philadelphia
