Job Description

For more than 50 years, EdgeTech has been the industry leader in designing and manufacturing advanced underwater sonar systems for seabed survey, target detection, object identification, mooring instrumentation, and acoustic tracking/positioning. Our products support a variety of customers, including offshore oil and gas, fisheries/science/underwater research, defense, and police/fire search and rescue. Were seeking an engineer/scientist interested in applying signal processing to develop algorithms that enable new capabilities in next-generation sonar systems. Responsibilities include algorithm design, analysis, implementation, sonar system analysis, software and hardware prototyping and testing, documentation, planning, sea testing, data collection, and post-trial analysis. Job Responsibilities

Design algorithms for processing sonar signals, including waveform design, beamforming, broadband processing, and detection. Develop and assess processing algorithms, interpreting their performance results. Collaborate with real-time code developers and modeling/simulation analysts to develop and integrate system software. Develop reliable signal processing algorithms for processors such as ARM, SoC/SoM, and FPGAs. Assist in developing signal processing specifications and their implementation. Test software, firmware, and sonar solutions in simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and field demonstrations. Work with cross-functional teams to test contributions and analyze performance. Support productization of technologies and solutions for engineering, production, and sales/marketing teams. Maintain relationships with major customers by understanding broad product objectives. Collaborate with engineers, customers, and the technical community to advance sonar capabilities for current and future applications. Job Requirements

Minimum of an M.S. degree in engineering or science, plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with signal processing theory and applications. Proficiency with scripting and analysis tools such as Matlab and Python. Experience planning and conducting sea trials and surveys. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and prioritize tasks. Experience with sonar imaging technologies or hydrographic applications is a plus. Familiarity with hardware (amplifiers, antennas/transducers, filters) and digital processing with FPGAs, GPUs, CPUs is desirable but not required. Willingness to undertake a mix of field and office assignments, including domestic and international travel. If interested, please contact: Kevin Igo Kevin.Igo@edgetech.com #J-18808-Ljbffr
