As the Public Cloud Engineering Practices Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our public cloud strategy. You will be part of a team that continues to deliver big! From building cloud base High Performance Compute (HPC) platform to run huge risk calculation, enabling Citi to leverage GenAI at scale, all the way to enabling payments solutions, this team is at the forefront of innovation. Role Description
The Public Cloud Infrastructure Developer will be instrumental in implementing the architecture and the engineering processes and best practices to enable the foundational infrastructure (Accounts, network, compute, storage, observability) required for application hosting in public cloud. This role is responsible for development of microservices, automate infrastructure provisioning and orchestration in public cloud. The ideal candidate has experience in professional software development, designing and creating highly available cloud systems, and can implement cloud strategy. Advanced industry knowledge is key, as well as knowledge in building an engineering organization. The role requires a talented technologist with experience engaging with application developers throughout the full development life-cycle from inception and design to deployment, operation, and iterative development. Responsibilities
Automate foundational infrastructure for public cloud (Accounts, Network, Compute) Deliver the tooling and capabilities needed to enable our cloud first strategy Provide developer-friendly cloud onboarding, account creation and management for supported cloud providers Ensure compliance to regulations and policy by implementing accurate requirements traceability Develop, cascade, and enforce development and engineering best practices using modern SDLC that enables CI/CD and favors automation, auditability, automated testing, infrastructure, and policy as code Develop and advocate for new cloud native solutions to undefined system needs, where no solution is available within the technical community Drive client satisfaction by identifying and developing process improvement and automation initiatives while ensuring compliance of solutions to operations roadmap Ensure requirements/tasks from technology departments and/or end users are communicated to stakeholders Exhibit in-depth understanding of engineering concepts and principles Qualifications
7+ years of relevant experience in Cloud Technologies and Public cloud native services (AWS/GCP) such as Landing Zone/Control Tower, EKS, Step Functions etc. 5 years in cloud engineering with deep Terraform and GCP/AWS knowledge. Experience with IaC deployment tools and languages (Terraform) Strong in Python, Go is a plus (for custom tooling/controllers). Passion for automation, clean code/DRY, and solving complex problems. Bias for action, innovation, and continuous learning Experience with CI/CD build pipelines and toolchain (e.g. Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Harness, Tekton, Maven, Artifactory, Jira) Experience with container technologies (Docker) and Kubernetes platforms (e.g. EKS, GKE, OpenShift) Hands-on expertise in development and deployment of code over public clouds and container environments. Preferred Qualifications
AWS/GCP Cloud Certification Experience working in regulated industries (bonus) Java/Spring boot/Microservices development experience is a plus Experience with Security - OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect with JWT Bearer Tokens and Identity Framework. X509 Cert Security / Windows Security with both Java and .NET applications, trust chain security and SAML (SSO) Experience with ELK, Splunk and Prometheus High Proficiency in Open-Source Technologies/Framework/Tools Education
