GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The Mowing Tractor Operator's primary function is to operate tractor with batwing mower and various power tools to maintain right-of-ways (ROW) along highways, secondary roads, etc. while maneuvering around traffic structures, debris and foliage. Operates equipment in compliance with operating policies, procedures, and safe practices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Operate tractor with mowing equipment on various terrains performing mowing and vegetation removal on right-of-ways (ROW). Use chainsaw, pole-saw, or other tools to cut tree debris, logs, or brush that has fallen on ROW and moves debris to staging areas for appropriate removal. Perform daily inspections of equipment and gear as assigned; ensure necessary repairs are made. Learns understands, and adheres to all safety rules and policies; utilizes all appropriate personal protective equipment. Perform other related duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of:

Operating tractors with batwing bush hog and sidearm tractors. Safe equipment operating procedures. Skill and Ability to:

Work alternating shifts, hours and days. Comply with all safety policies and procedures. Work in adverse weather conditions. Perform general maintenance on equipment including tractor, bush-hog, chainsaw, etc. Work independently and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

High school diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED. 1-3 prior years of tractor or related agricultural equipment operating experience is required. LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must possesses a Valid Driver's License CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Direct deposit and social security card are required. WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is mainly outdoors; some lifting is required.
