Physician - Emergency Department (Bluefield Regional Medical Center)
The WVU Health System has undergone significant expansion in specialty and sub-specialty care, including cancer, heart and vascular, and neuroscience. It operates West Virginia's first and only multi-organ transplant center and opened a new 150-bed Children's Hospital in September 2022. Today, the system has over 2,400 licensed beds, 3,900 providers, and nearly 30,000 employees. It is anchored by a 700-bed academic medical center in Morgantown and includes more than 20 member hospitals serving West Virginia, Western Maryland, Eastern Ohio, and Southwestern Pennsylvania. The Department of Emergency Medicine has over 100 full-time members across diverse practice sites, with additional career opportunities for physicians seeking various clinical experiences linked to WVU's School of Medicine. Qualified applicants must have an MD, MD/PHD, or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and be eligible for a medical license. Candidates should have completed an accredited Emergency Medicine residency and be board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine.
