What It's Like To Be a Retail Banker Teller

As a Part-time-Time Retail Banker/Teller at Farmers and Merchants Bank, you can expect a dynamic workday filled with customer interactions and financial transactions. Your daily responsibilities will include processing deposits and withdrawals, cash handling, and assisting customers with account inquiries. You will also be expected to implement banking protocols to ensure safety and integrity during all transactions.

Each day, you'll engage with clients, providing personalized service while maintaining accurate records. You will participate in training sessions to enhance your knowledge of products and services offered by the bank. Your typical schedule will run from Monday to Friday, Noon to 5:15 PM, allowing for consistent working hours that promote work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service: Interviewing prospective customers, explaining services, opening new accounts, assisting with inquiries (debit cards, overdraft protection, stop payments), password resets, and creating instant issue debit cards. Teller Duties: Receiving and paying out money, processing deposits, cashing checks, processing loan payments, maintaining and balancing a cash drawer, processing cash advances, night deposits, selling cashier's checks, and redeeming U.S. Savings Bonds. Account Management: Revising accounts, transferring money between accounts, processing check and deposit slip orders, issuing and redeeming Certificates of Deposit and IRA accounts, and assisting with wire transfers. Administrative/Operational: Scanning documentation, reviewing exception lists, and accurately counting coins and currency. This position may float to other branches in the Fayetteville area if needed.
