Advantage Technical is hiring a Product Development Engineer (R&D) to support the integration of a newly acquired medical device product into our world-class operations. This is a hands-on engineering role perfect for a detail-oriented problem solver with experience in design controls, verification testing, and technical documentation in the medical device or regulated product space.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement
machine learning algorithms
for the
AVVIGO+ Image-Guided Therapy System . Work with
medical imaging datasets -including data preprocessing, cleaning, augmentation, and annotation. Build and fine-tune
deep learning models
for image
classification
and
segmentation tasks
using frameworks such as
PyTorch
and
TensorFlow . Validate model performance with robust testing and iterative optimization. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including ML engineers, data scientists, and algorithm developers. Promote a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and
patient-centered innovation . Ensure strict compliance with
medical device regulations ,
patient safety standards , and
quality assurance protocols .
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in
Engineering ,
Computer Science ,
Biomedical Engineering , or a related technical field. 1-4 years of hands-on experience in
machine learning
and
image processing . Proficiency with Python-based libraries and tools, including: PyTorch ,
TensorFlow Pandas ,
Scikit-learn ,
Scipy
Demonstrated experience with
medical image analysis
or related domains.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience developing ML models specifically for
medical imaging applications
(CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, etc.). Knowledge of
computer vision techniques
and real-time image analysis. Familiarity with
Docker ,
GitHub , and
Python package development . Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present technical findings clearly to stakeholders. Highly organized, self-driven, and comfortable working in a
fast-paced, collaborative R&D environment .
