The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $78,870 - $103,191.
Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.
Join Our Team as an International Traffic Supervisor!
The Traffic Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and optimizing global logistics operations for international customer orders, including import and export shipments. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance, efficiency, and cost-effective transportation, working closely with cross-functional teams such as shipping/packing, assembly operations, production planning, International Inside Sales, and Global Business Units.
Key Responsibilities:
Shipping Coordination: Manage global and domestic shipments (ground, ocean, and air) with precision, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation. Efficiently utilize Oracle and OTM enterprise management tools for order processing and shipment execution. Analyze completed sales orders to identify consolidation opportunities, reducing shipping costs while optimizing delivery schedules. Maintain proactive communication with Inside Sales, ensuring order accuracy, proper instructions, and seamless coordination. Interpret sales team notes and order details to execute the correct shipping, billing, and compliance methodologies. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to track material availability and packing schedules, preventing delays. Import & Export Documentation: Accurately prepare and review essential trade documents, ensuring compliance with company, customer, and government regulations. Oversee the preparation of invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, customs declarations, and other required documents. Ensure adherence to trade compliance policies, reducing risks associated with international shipments. Review import entries for accuracy in tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, and duty payments Verify that all imports comply with applicable trade agreements and import restrictions Freight Booking & Transportation Management: Arrange and coordinate shipments with multiple carriers, 3PL partners, and freight forwarders. Optimize transportation modes based on cost, urgency, and product requirements. Develop strong relationships with logistics providers to enhance reliability and efficiency. Shipment Tracking & Issue Resolution: Monitor and trace shipments, proactively identifying delays or discrepancies. Communicate timely resolutions to customers, vendors, and internal teams to maintain seamless operations. Regulatory Compliance & Record Keeping: Ensure precise documentation and adherence to S&C Policies, Procedures, and U.S. CFR standards. Maintain an organized database of shipments, trade compliance records, and carrier performance metrics. Cost & Freight Analysis: Support international and domestic freight quoting, ensuring competitive pricing and optimized shipping solutions. Review carrier invoices, identify discrepancies, and manage approvals for accurate payment processing. Process Improvement & Collaboration: Work closely with the Manager - Global Trade Compliance & Logistics to enhance supply chain efficiencies. Participate in continuous improvement projects, helping refine systems, workflows, and logistics strategies. Maintain regular and punctual attendance Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required Communicate effectively and respectfully with others Other responsibilities as assigned What you'll Need To Succeed:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or International Business (preferred) or equivalent experience. 3 to 5 years of Logistics/Supply/Shipping experience. Supply Chain & Logistics Knowledge: In-depth understanding of global supply chain operations, trade routes, and transportation methods. Regulatory Compliance Expertise: Familiarity with customs clearance, import/export laws, tariffs, and trade agreements (e.g., USMCA, INCOTERMS, CFR, HTS codes). Enterprise Software Proficiency: Experience with ERP (Oracle, SAP), transportation management systems (OTM, TMS), and data analytics tools. Shipment Coordination & Freight Optimization: Ability to manage bookings, track cargo, and implement cost-saving strategies. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess supply chain inefficiencies, resolve shipping discrepancies, and enhance operational workflow. Financial Acumen: Experience in reviewing carrier invoices, managing freight costs, and identifying discrepancies for resolution. Multi-Tasking & Attention to Detail: Capability to process multiple shipments simultaneously, ensuring compliance and accuracy. Cross-Cultural & Global Business Expertise: Understanding of international trade dynamics, market trends, and cultural nuances for effective supplier management. Negotiation & Vendor Management: Ability to work with suppliers, carriers, and 3PL partners to secure competitive pricing and reliable shipping solutions. Customer Service & Stakeholder Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for liaising with clients, customs officials, and internal teams to facilitate seamless operations. Preferred:
