FLEET MECHANIC
JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY:
Responsible for scheduling and performing mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on all company fleet vehicles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete repairs on all types of fleet equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles. Perform mechanical repairs including engine repairs, clutches, some welding, electrical, greasing, transmission, and brake repairs. Inspect hoses, belts, fluids, and wiring. Respond to fleet service calls for 24-hour business needs; pick up and deliver vehicles. Perform preventative maintenance inspections and D.O.T. inspections using prescribed checklists. Identify and report all unsafe conditions. QUALIFICATIONS:

Automotive/Mechanical Trade or Vocational certification preferred. 1+ years of mechanic experience on light and heavy equipment required. 3+ years journeyman mechanic experience preferred. Diesel and hydraulic experience preferred. Experience with lift gates, roll-up doors, and electrical systems. Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude. Must supply automotive hand tools (excluding heavy-duty or diagnostic tools). Must have a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with a clean driving record.
